A kutatás a Thaparocleidus vistulensis nevű kopoltyúféreg elleni célzott kezelési lehetőségeket vizsgálta, amelyek hozzájárulhatnak a fenntarthatóbb és hatékonyabb akvakultúrás gyakorlatok kialakításához.\n\nA kopoltyúféreg fertőzések súlyos gazdasági károkat okozhatnak az intenzív harcsatenyészetekben, mivel rontják a halak légzését, növekedését és általános egészségi állapotát.\n\nA jelenlegi gyakorlat gyakran széles spektrumú kemoterápiás szerekkel igyekszik mérsékelni az okozott gazdasági károkat, így különösen fontos olyan célzott kezelési stratégiák kidolgozása, amelyek csökkenthetik a környezetterhelést és a vegyszerfelhasználást.\n\nA kutatás során a szakemberek két ismert féregellenes kezelőszer, a prazikvantel (PZQ) és a mebendazol (MBZ) hatékonyságát vizsgálták mesterségesen fertőzött harcsaivadékokon. Az előzetes toxicitási vizsgálatok igazolták, hogy a halak a 10 mg/l koncentrációjú kezeléseket is jól tolerálják, látható stresszreakció nélkül.\n\nAz in vivo kezelési kísérletek eredményei szerint:\n\n- a prazikvantel, a legmagasabb alkalmazott koncentrációban, 24 órán belül képes volt elpusztítani a parazitákat a kopoltyúkon,\n\n- a mebendazol lassabban, de rendkívül hatékonyan fejtette ki hatását, és 14 nap alatt közel 98%-kal csökkentette a paraziták számát a kopoltyúlemezeken, még alacsonyabb dózis esetén is.","dsDescriptionDate_hu":"2026-06-04"},"keyword":[{"keywordValue":"Monogenean control"},{"keywordValue":"Fish parasitology"},{"keywordValue":"Anthelmintic treatment"},{"keywordValue":"Bath chemotherapeutants"},{"keywordValue":"Parasite management"},{"keywordValue":"Aquaculture health"}],"title_hu":"Kiegészítő adatok – Harcsák kezelése Thaparocleidus vistulensis fertőzésre – Wan Sajiri, 2026","subject":"Agricultural Sciences","title":"Supplementary data – Catfish treatment for Thaparocleidus vistulensis infection – Wan Sajiri, 2026","depositor":"Kaján, Győző László","dateOfDeposit":"2026-06-04","datasetContact":{"datasetContactName":"Sellyei, Boglárka","datasetContactAffiliation":"Veterinary Medical Research Institute","datasetContactEmail":"sellyei.boglarka@vmri.hu"},"dsDescription":{"dsDescriptionValue":"Severe infections with the gill monogenean Thaparocleidus vistulensis hinder the aquaculture of European catfish (Silurus glanis), promoting farmers to use broad-spectrum chemotherapeutants for control. This study aimed to describe the in vivo efficacy of specific anthelmintics, such as Praziquantel (PZQ) and Mebendazole (MBZ) (administered as bath treatments), against the infection. Initial toxicity tests exposed juvenile European catfish to PZQ and MBZ at concentrations of 0, 10, and 20 mg/L (24 h bath treatment) followed by a 14 days post-treatment (dpt) observation period. These tests demonstrated that European catfish could tolerate 10 mg/L of PZQ and MBZ without any signs of stress. In vivo treatment experiments were conducted by exposing experimentally infected catfish to 0, 1, 5, and 10 mg/L of PZQ or MBZ, after which fish were examined 1, 7, and 14 dpt. PZQ at the highest concentration eliminated 100% of parasites from the gills of juvenile European catfish within 24 h. MBZ displayed a delayed effect, with a 98% reduction in parasites at 14 dpt, even at the lowest concentration. Based on these results, it is possible to establish a strategy for treating European catfish against T. vistulensis infections, which can minimise the use of chemicals in aquaculture.","dsDescriptionDate":"2026-06-04"},"author":[{"authorName":"Wan Sajiri, Wan Muhammad Hazim","authorAffiliation":"Veterinary Medical Research Institute","authorIdentifierScheme":"ORCID","authorIdentifier":"0000-0002-1364-2526"},{"authorName":"Székely, Csaba","authorAffiliation":"Veterinary Medical Research Institute","authorIdentifierScheme":"ORCID","authorIdentifier":"0000-0001-8831-9099"},{"authorName":"Buchmann, Kurt","authorAffiliation":"Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen","authorIdentifierScheme":"ORCID","authorIdentifier":"0000-0002-2747-237X"},{"authorName":"Sellyei, Boglárka","authorAffiliation":"Veterinary Medical Research Institute","authorIdentifierScheme":"ORCID","authorIdentifier":"0000-0002-1926-8256"}],"publication":{"publicationCitation":"Wan Muhammad Hazim Wan Sajiri, Csaba Székely, Kurt Buchmann, Boglárka Sellyei,\nIn vivo efficacy of conventional parasiticides on Thaparocleidus vistulensis (Siwak, 1932) (Monopisthocotylea) parasitizing European catfish (Silurus glanis),\nAquaculture Reports,\nVolume 48,\n2026,\n103653,\nISSN 2352-5134","publicationIDType":"doi","publicationIDNumber":"10.1016/j.aqrep.2026.103653","publicationURL":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2352513426002930","publicationRelationType":"IsSupplementTo"},"@id":"https://hdl.handle.net/21.15109/ARP/8KFOKV","@type":["ore:Aggregation","schema:Dataset"],"schema:version":"1.0","schema:name":"Supplementary data – Catfish treatment for Thaparocleidus vistulensis infection – Wan Sajiri, 2026","schema:dateModified":"2026-06-04 16:33:47.187","schema:datePublished":"2026-06-04","schema:creativeWorkStatus":"RELEASED","schema:license":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0","dvcore:fileTermsOfAccess":{"dvcore:fileRequestAccess":true},"schema:includedInDataCatalog":"ARP","schema:isPartOf":{"schema:name":"Fish Health and Parasitology Dataverse","@id":"https://repo.researchdata.hu/dataverse/HUN-REN_VMRI_Fish_Parasitology","schema:isPartOf":{"schema:name":"Veterinary Medical Research Institute (ÁTKI)","@id":"https://repo.researchdata.hu/dataverse/vmri","schema:isPartOf":{"schema:name":"Hungarian Research Network","@id":"https://repo.researchdata.hu/dataverse/hun-ren","schema:description":"<h2>A HUN-REN Magyar Kutatási Hálózat intézményi tárolója</h2>\nA HUN-REN Magyar Kutatási Hálózat a magyar tudományos élet alappillérét jelentő kutatási hálózat.
