Abstract:

This dataset contains comprehensive data on PhAC sorption processes in Mollisol topsoil under a simulated vegetation period. The study examined the sorption of nine pharmaceuticals with differing physicochemical properties—Carbamazepine (CBZ), 17α-ethynylestradiol (EE2), and Diclofenac-sodium (DFC)—along with their metabolites: trans-10,11-Dihydro-10,11-dihydroxy Carbamazepine (TCBZ), Estrone (E1), Estriol (E3), 17β-Estradiol (BE2), 17α-Estradiol (LE2), and 5-Hydroxydiclofenac (5HODFC). Chemometric modeling was performed, and the dataset includes detailed results from various statistical analyses, including canonical correlation analysis, Pearson correlation. Additionally, it contains physicochemical properties of the studied pharmaceuticals, including pKa, pH, logD, nAlb/nArb, nHBA/nHBD, and vdWSA. Sorption results from the fixed-bed system include Tbreak, Tsat, qmax, Aarea, qtotal, Darea, qdtotal, and Pd %. The dataset also includes enzyme activity results for dehydrogenase and phosphatase enzymes, as well as DNA sequencing data from sampling days, describing the fungal and prokaryotic communities in the soil. Further, it contains soil sampling coordinates and elemental analysis results, including SOC % (m/m) and total nitrogen content (TbN %, m/m), the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio (C/N) and Inorganic carbon content (IC %, m/m). Physical soil properties results , such as clay, silt, and sand percentages, were Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy results of soil organic matter This dataset provides a comprehensive overview of the physicochemical, microbiological, and chemometric aspects of PhAC sorption in Mollisol soil.
