The Research Project dataverse contains additional dataverses that organise the completed and ongoing research projects of the Institute on the complete study of all groups of organisms in the lake, its biodiversity, community dynamics, physical and chemical state, primary production, the relationship between lower and higher organisms, external, anthropogenic and climate change impacts, and the role of alien species. The mesocosm system set up in the Institute's park allows experimental studies of all these variables to be carried out and stored in additional dataverses.

This dataset contains raw physicochemical surface-water parameters measured at 17 sampling sites in Lake Balaton during the peak bathing season (summer 2023). Measured variables include pH, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and nutrient concentrations. These parameters were used as input varia...

This dataset contains combined organic UV-filter (OUVF) concentrations and physicochemical surface-water parameters measured at 13 shoreline sampling sites (Site IDs 5–17) in Lake Balaton during the peak bathing season (summer 2023). The dataset includes measured concentrations (ng/L) of five widely used organic UV-filters (avobenzone, octocrylene...

Pallos, Réka; Bánó, Bálint; Takács, Péter, 2026, "Socio-ecological implications of black spot disease in European perch: linking parasite dynamics and angler behaviour in a large shallow lake", https://hdl.handle.net/21.15109/ARP/UMUIYT, ARP, V1
This dataset contains photographic data used to study parasitism in European perch (Perca fluviatilis) from Lake Balaton. We analyzed photographs to determine the location of parasites on the perch’s body, investigating both the prevalence and also the spatial distribution of Apophallus donicus in Lake Balaton. Additionally, we created a Hungarian...
